And then there were forms

As a first-time home builder, all this is new. I didn’t know that “breaking ground” doesn’t necessarily mean that ground is broken. The only thing breaking is our shovels as we try to dig into rock, so we’re just adding more tiny rocks on top, framing them in between wood boards and then pouring concrete on top. Just like a cake! I have no idea what those trenches are for, but they roughly correspond to the placement of interior walls. We’re starting to see the true elevation of the property and how the structures will sit in relation to each other. One can’t have a feel for this in drawings and renderings unless there’s a super detailed survey at the beginning, which we didn’t have done. We also have tried to work around the existing trees to minimize loss of shade and privacy. I realize that it’s really hard to get a sense of how these are all positioned, but you’ll just have to watch the progress over time. And then visit.

You didn’t click this link to hear me yak. Show me the photos! Here ya go…
